HOOP JARGON & FAQ'

So you've just discovered the hooping world and are pumped but what the hell is all this polypro, HPDE, OD, ID, grip tape nonsense!!

Hoop Material

HDPE - High density Polyethylene - a harder, stiffer, heavier plastic

MDPE - Medium density Polyethylene - 

PSI- pounds per square inch - used to express density & therefore weight

OD - Outside diameter (in inches generally)

ID - Inside Diameter (in inches generally)

Why is tape important?

Good quality grip takes help provide friction between you're body and the hoop. This helps you keep the hoop up! -

 

Other factors to consider here are your clothing choices, loose, baggy & slippery clothes with slow down or stop the hoop mid flow (cotton or bare skin is best ;) ) 

3:CHOOSING THE RIGHT SIZE HOOP

When would I suggest a smaller hoop?

If you're petite, in height or waist, a younger hooper, people with a dance or gymnastics background or already can waist hoop comfortably

 

When would I suggest a larger hoop?

If you are very tall, have large boobs, are a little overweight, or generally quite uncoordinated

A larger hoop will give you more room inside the hoop to shake your thing without you're body parts coming into contact with the hoop too soon and spoiling your flow, or enough time for you're body to work out the movement
